In the final practice session in Bahrain yesterday, Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel was quickest ahead of his team mate Kimi Raikkonen and Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg.
With many teams and drivers choosing FP3 to define tyre choices and set ups for the race on Sunday, we saw the midfield especially being incredibly tight and changing throughout the session.
But it was Sebastian Vettel who was fastest with a lap time of 1.31.683 ahead of his team mate Kimi Raikkonen in second place who was 0.040 seconds behind him and ahead of Nico Rosberg in third place who was 0.421 seconds behind Vettel.
Lewis Hamilton finished the session in fourth place ahead of Valtteri Bottas in fifth place, Romain Grosjean in sixth place, Daniil Kvyat in seventh place, Esteban Gutierrez in eighth place, Felipe Massa in ninth place and Daniel Ricciardo who rounded off the top ten finishers.
Marcus Ericsson ended the session in a brilliant eleventh place ahead of Kevin Magnussen in twelfth place, Jenson Button in thirteenth place, Stoffel Vandoorne in fourteenth place and Max Verstappen in fifteenth place.
As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Carlos Sainz Jr ended the session in sixteenth place ahead of Felipe Nasr in seventeenth place and ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in eighteenth place. Sergio Perez finished the session in nineteenth place ahead of Jolyon Palmer in twentieth place, Rio Haryanto in twenty-first place and Pascal Wehrlein in twenty-second place.
