Rosberg fastest in FP3 at Abu Dhabi

This afternoon we saw championship challenger Nico Rosberg setting the pace in FP3 in Abu Dhabi ahead of his team mate and championship leader Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa who was third fastest.

During the session, we saw the drivers taking to the track fine-tuning their set ups ahead of Qualifying and the race tomorrow. But it was Nico Rosberg who topped the timesheets with a lap time of 1.41.424 ahead of his team mate Lewis Hamilton who was 0.369 seconds behind him. Felipe Massa was third fastest in the session and was 1.005 seconds behind the Mercedes drivers.

Fernando Alonso finished the session in fourth place despite only taking part in the first twenty minutes of the session. Despite this, Alonso still finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel in fifth place, Jenson Button in sixth place who finished ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in seventh place. Valtteri Bottas ended the session in eighth place ahead of Toro Rosso rookie Daniil Kvyat in ninth place and Kimi Raikkonen who rounded off the top ten finishers.
Kevin Magnussen ended the session in eleventh place ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne in twelfth place and ahead of the Force India drivers of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg in thirteenth and fourteenth places. Esteban Gutierrez finished the session in fifteenth place ahead of Pastor Maldonado in sixteenth place.

As we head into the latter stages of the session, Romain Grosjean finished the session in seventeenth place ahead of Adrian Sutil in eighteenth place ahead of the two Caterham drivers of Kamui Kobayashi and Will Stevens who finished in nineteenth and twentieth places.
