This morning in Silverstone, Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets in FP1 ahead of his team mate Lewis Hamilton and Toro Rosso rookie Max Verstappen.

In the first 15 minutes of the session, Lewis Hamilton while going through the Stowe corner got onto the kerb and spun his car but he was able to continue running in the session unlike his team mate.

Nico Rosberg on the entry to Maggots corner had to stop after the team instructed him to after losing hydraulic pressure in the car.

Also, we saw Felipe Nasr going into Turns 3 and 4 losing the rear of his Sauber while braking but he was able to continue on running during the session.

But it was Nico Rosberg who topped the timesheets with a laptime of 1.34.274 ahead of Lewis Hamilton who finished in second place 0.070 seconds behind him but was ahead of Max Verstappen in third place who was 1.256 seconds behind the Mercedes of Rosberg.

As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Pastor Maldonado finished the session in sixteenth place, Fernando Alonso finished in seventeenth place ahead of his team mate Jenson Button in eighteenth place, who suffered a leak in his car during
the session and only managed 10 laps in the session.
