Monaco- GP2 preview

Monaco will be a big challenge for the drivers as there isn't any room for mistakes and overtaking on the track is very difficult. Pirelli has chosen the soft and supersoft tyre compounds for the weekend, and the Monaco track hasn't been too hard on the tyres in past years. This year though the tyres are a bit different which once again means it will be important that the drivers look after them.

The weekend will surely bring some dramatic action as the circuit is very challenging and demanding in so many ways. Drivers need to be continually focused, and starting from the front of the field will be very important when aiming for victory.

Anything can happen though and we could possibly see some upsets during the race. Pit stop strategy will also play a big role during the feature race because when overtaking is difficult, you can win a lot when you play your strategy right and come into the pits at the right time. If something goes wrong, it can also cost you a lot of time and places.

There are several things to remember this weekend as Monaco has a different schedule compared to other weekends on the calendar. GP2 practice session and qualifying will be held on Thursday, and the feature race will take place on Friday morning. Also, the qualifying will be a bit different as the drivers will be driving in two different groups as the traffic on the track would be too difficult if all the 26 cars went to the track at the same time.

The sprint race will be on at Saturday after the Formula 1 qualifying, which means that there will be no GP2 action on Sunday. Remember this so you won't miss any sessions this weekend.

Can Jolyon Palmer and Johnny Cecotto repeat their victories from last year? Will Stefano Coletti and Felipe Nasr continue their unbeatable consistency? Will Nasr crab his first victory in the series? We will find out in the next few days. Be sure you will catch up, as in Monaco anything can happen.
