It was announced earlier this week in the media that Michael Schumacher’s family has launched a non-profit initiative called “Keep Fighting”.
The initiative has been launched along with a new Twitter account set up “for the wonderful fans” of the seven-time world champion. Launched via website www.keepfighting.ms , the initiative wants to “spread the positive energy” shown by his supporters since he suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident in December 2013, from which he is still recovering.
The website states the following as to why it was set up by the Schumacher family:-
“Keep Fighting hopes to unite everybody inspired by Michael Schumacher to believe they should keep fighting and never give up. Michael Schumacher is considered by many to be the best driver ever in Formula 1. His achievements on the racing track are undoubtedly unique, but he is also acknowledged by his achievements off the track.
“Michael’s strong will, his loyalty to the ones close to him, his honest attitude towards his goals and convictions and his strict readiness to help others are an inspiration to many people around the world since many years. The Schumacher family and #TeamMichael invite you to join the Keep Fighting Community and welcome your involvement in this initiative. Keep Fighting aims to spread the positive energy that supporters of Michael have expressed to him over the years.”
The intiative lists its activities as including the Michael Schumacher exhibition in Marburg, the Champions for Charity football match and the Michael Schumacher Private Collection exhibit at Motorworld Cologne (which is in the planning stage).
All of us at Driving For Pleasure hope that all motorsport fans follow this initiative and continue to keep Michael in our thoughts and prayers and to #KeepFightingMichael.
