Lewis Hamilton remains quickest in FP2 in China

This morning or Friday afternoon in Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton remained at the top of the timesheets ahead of the Ferrari drivers of Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo.

During FP2, we did also see many drivers pushing the limits of the track and in Massa's case spinning on the circuit again on the back straight after locking up the rear tyres which then caused him to hit wall; causing damage to his front wing that brought out the red flag.

We did also see Sebastian Vettel spinning at Turn 3 after putting too much steering into his SF14-T through the corner but was able to continue running in the session unlike Massa.

During the session, Kimi Raikkonen, Sergio Perez and Daniil Kvyat suffered problems with their brakes. But Raikkonen and Perez were able to sort out their issues and could run on the track whereas Kvyat's left rear brakes were alight and while trying to get back into the pits, he crashed into the wall and suffered damage on the front end of his RB11.

But the main talking point of the session was during the early stages a man invaded the track after getting past track security and the barriers while the cars were out running on the home straight and was able to get into the pit lane and got as far as the Ferrari pit lane.

It has been reported that the man in question has now been arrested by the Chinese police and no further information is available at the moment.

But it was Lewis Hamilton that topped the timesheets with a 1.37.219 ahead of Kimi Raikkonen who finished the session in second place 0.443 seconds behind Hamilton but ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in third place who was 1.092 seconds off Hamilton's pace.

Sebastian Vettel finished the session in fourth place ahead of Nico Rosberg in fifth place, Daniil Kvyat in sixth place despite his problems in sixth place and Valtteri Bottas who ended the session in seventh place. Felipe Nasr ended the session in eighth place ahead of the Lotus of Romain Grosjean in ninth place and Jenson Button in tenth place who appears to have made some improvement so far this weekend.

Pastor Maldonado ended the session ahead of Fernando Alonso in twelfth place, Marcus Ericsson in thirteenth place and Max Verstappen who finished the session in fourteenth place.

As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Carlos Sainz Jr ended the session in fifteenth place ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in sixteenth place, Felipe Massa in seventeenth place, Sergio Perez in eighteenth place and the two Manor F1 drivers of Roberto Merhi and Will Stevens who ended the session in nineteenth and twentieth places.

However, Stevens did suffer with power unit problems during the session but was able to get a few laps running towards the end of the session.
