Lewis Hamilton claims Pole Position at Silverstone for the British GP

This afternoon at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton claimed his eight Pole Position of the season and also his 46th Pole Position of his career ahead of his team Nico Rosberg and Williams driver Felipe Massa.

During the Q1 session, we saw Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, Pastor Maldonado, Sergio Perez and Daniil Kvyat have their times deleted by the stewards after exceeding track limits at Corpse corner where there is a clampdown on drivers exceeding the limits of the track this weekend.

We then saw drivers once again exceeding the track limits at Corpse Corner in Q2. Kimi Raikkonen, Pastor Maldonado and Marcus Ericsson had their times deleted in Q2 as a result of this and the pressure was on all three of them to complete a lap time before the Q2 session ended.

Valtteri Bottas qualified in fourth place ahead of the Ferrari drivers of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel in fifth and sixth places. Daniil Kvyat qualified in seventh place ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr ended the session in eighth place ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in ninth place and Daniel Ricciardo who rounded off the top ten finishers.
