In the second practice session in Sepang, Lewis Hamilton leads his team mate Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel as the drivers struggled with low grip levels early in FP2 on Sepang’s brand new surface, with track temperatures soaring to 56C, but conditions improved as more rubber was put down.
But it was Lewis Hamilton who was fastest with a lap time of 1:34.944 ahead of his team mate Nico Rosberg in second place who was 0.233 seconds behind him and ahead of Sebastian Vettel in third place who was 0.661 seconds behind Hamilton.
Kimi Raikkonen finished the session in fourth place ahead of Max Verstappen in fifth place, Sergio Perez in sixth place, Fernando Alonso in seventh place, Daniel Ricciardo in eighth place, Nico Hulkenberg in ninth place and Jenson Button who rounded off the top ten finishers.
Carlos Sainz Jr ended the session in eleventh place ahead of Jolyon Palmer in twelfth place, Valtteri Bottas in thirteenth place, Esteban Gutierrez in fourteenth place and Felipe Massa in fifteenth place.
As we head into the latter stages of the grid, Daniil Kvyat ended the session in sixteenth place ahead of Marcus Ericsson in seventeenth place, Felipe Nasr in eighteenth place, Kevin Magnussen in nineteenth place, Romain Grosjean in twentieth place, Pascal Wehrlein in twenty-first place and Esteban Ocon in twenty-second place.
