The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 kicked off in style on the morning of Thursday, 26 June, with Lord March opening the world famous Goodwood Moving Motor Show presented by The AA in association with The Telegraph with the first drive up the hill in a stunning Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series.

Declaring the Goodwood Moving Motor Show 2014 open, Lord March said: “It is really great to have you all here, to enjoy the greatest Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show line up in our 21-year history.”

The unique appeal of the Goodwood Festival of Speed is underscored further in 2014 with the biggest Moving Motor Show in the event's history. More visitors to the Moving Motor Show will take to the iconic Hillclimb today, in more all-new debut products than ever before.

During a weekend in West Sussex famed for superstars motoring in super cars, Thursday's Moving Motor Show visitors are able to do exactly the same as heroes Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastien Loeb and many others by driving the fabled Hillclimb themselves.

Moving Motor Show product debuts for 2014 will include premieres from Abarth (595 Competizione), Alfa Romeo (MiTo and Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde), BMW (new M cars range), Citroen (C1 and C4 Cactus), Ford, Honda, Infiniti (FX Vettel special and Q range), Mercedes, MINI (John Cooper Works Hatch), Nissan (Qashqai and X Trail), Peugeot (108,308 and RCZ-R), Porsche (Macan), Renault, Toyota (Aygo) and Volvo (V60 hybrid) with
much more exotica taking to the Festival ground for the first time from Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Ford with the world debut of the Focus ST, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, LandRover, Lexus, McLaren, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and many more.

The Festival of Speed 2014, themed 'Addicted to Winning,' features amazing highlights such as Formula 1 world champions Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, John Surtees and Emerson Fittipaldi, the inaugural timed Michelin Supercar Run, the world debut of the all-new Honda NSX and a stunning central feature celebrating 120 years of Mercedes-Benz in motor sport.

All this, combined with the exquisite Cartier 'style-et-luxe' classic car Concours d'Elegance, GAS Arena, Forest Rally Stage presented by Skoda, fine dining, music and a huge crowd in one of Europe's finest country estates make for outstanding experiences at the Goodwood.
