Formula E gets Cannes Lions nomination

The FIA Formula E Championship last week has been recognised by the most prestigious awards in advertising – the Cannes Lions.

The Leap of Faith stunt in which renowned stuntman Damien Walters backflips over one of the all-electric racing car; has been nominated in the best Visual Storytelling in Sports Entertainment category.

The awards are held in Cannes on Friday 24th June and Formula E is up against well-established brands Pantene, Gatorade and TYC Sports in this hotly-contested category.

Ali Russell, Director of Media at Formula E, said the following about the nomination as follows:-

It is a great honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award. We are incredibly proud of the Leap of Faith stunt – which has been viewed more than 10 million times on social media – and demonstrates the level of ambition that the series has.
