Neil Wood of motospeed.co.uk made the trip to Carfest North and kindly stood in as a late replacement for Drivingforpleasure
We had a great time at Carfest North on the Saturday!
After a very early start we headed down the M6 in the fine company of a full Carbon Lamborghini Superleggra to meet up with the Supercardriver club nearby Oulton Park ready for the drive In.
After setting up for the day we were in the pits bright and early spending time with some of the most iconic vehicles on Earth!
With Ferraris from the Chris Evans collection and Nick Mason (of Pink Floyd fame) and numerous other weird and wonderful machines we had a great couple of hours getting personal with these iconic vehicles.
Having a 6 year old with me the pits soon became a bad idea and some track viewing was called for,we saw all these amazing Cars and Motorcycles doing 'Sprint Laps' which due to the horrific Rain can't of been easy.
Soon the 6 year old in me decided the Fair was a good idea,with excellent value rides we had a whale of a time and then had a lovely Tea at one of the many vendor stalls Offering culinary delights from every corner of the Globe!
This clearly wasn't the event to attend if you were on a diet like Moi :-/
After another track session of fabulous vehicles we decided to head home at about 7pm after a really great day in what feels like my second home
I literally half grew up at Oulton Park as we spent many Weekends a year there when I was growing up,I truly love the Venue and love the sympathetic way it has been developed.
Indeed Carfest North was a credit to the organisers and MSV Oulton Park,the folk who brought all these fabulous Vehicles and attractions.
Hopefully a trade stand for Motospeed Apparel may be in order next year!!!!
