Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Festival
Sunday 8th October 2017
The Autumn Motorsport Festival with its associated classic car displays will return to the Brooklands Museum on Sunday 8th October 2017. The annual event is a chance to round off the season with the dramatic sight of competition cars from all eras in action on the Mercedes-Benz World test track, adjacent to the Brooklands Museum, with selected cars running up the demanding Brooklands Test Hill.
The sheer variety of competition cars is always one of the event's major attractions, with just a few of this year's notable cars expected to include:
•Aston Martin DBS V8 ex-Gerry Marshall
•Audi Quattro 1983 rally car
•2 x James Hunt & Bubbles Horsley 1972 Hesketh Dastles
•1992 Bathurst-winning Nissan Skyline R32 GTR (replica)
•Vauxhall Firenza Droop Snoot race car (one of several cars from the Vauxhall Drivers' Club)
•Ex-Dennis Priddle's 'Mr. Revell' dragster, which claimed time and speed records for front-engined dragsters for 20 years; will do a four-minute 'run-up' (static engine start)
•Hillclimb/sprint-prepared 1967 Volvo Amazon
•Unique homologation GT1 Nissan
•MK2 Escort RS2000 Group 4 rally car
•Ex-Network Q rally Mini from the 1990s, among others from the Box Hill Mini Club
•Classic American stock cars (mainly 1940s)
•Richard Evans' Iso Rivolta
•John Reaks' ex-Piquet F1 Benetton
•Kevin Mason's Formula Nippon
Book in advance and tickets cost just £11 for adults, £10 for seniors/students and £6 for children aged 5-16 – while the whole family can go for £30. On-the-day prices are £13, £12, £7 and £34, respectively. See brooklandsmuseum.com for advance tickets.
